The Calder Cup is Calling

April 15th was scheduled to be the last game played by the Milwaukee Admirals at the BMO Harris Bradley Center due to the fact that next year they are moving across the street to the Panther Arena, but, that won’t be the case.

Saturday night the Admirals punched their ticket to the AHL post season with their 2-0 win over San Antonio. Admiral goalie Juuse Saros earned his eighth win in his last 10 starts, and increased his season record to 25-7 with last night’s win. As far as scoring was concerned, Max Reinhart sent the Admirals into the locker room after the first period with his goal with 1:24 left in the first period. Mid-way through the second period Jaime Devane got the proverbial “goalie monkey” off of his back with his first goal since January 30th, and the Admirals never looked back.

The Admirals who are 43-21-3-2 and in first place in the Central Division with 91 points are looking for their first division crown since the 2010-11 season. That being said the Admirals are 3 points up on second place Lake Erie Monsters.

The upcoming Calder Cup Playoffs will be the Admirals 13th appearance in 14 years, only missing the post season last year.

The Admirals go on the road, but will be back April 12 vs Chicago, and the 15th vs Bakersfield for their LAST REGULAR SEASON home game at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. The playoffs start the week of the 18th.
