Khris Middleton and Jabari Parker are in Toronto this weekend as the sole representatives of the Bucks in the 2016 All-Star Game festivities. Parker in the Rising Stars Game in which  he had 12 pts in the US stars 157-154 win over the World stars,  and Middleton will be participating in the 3 pt Shoot-Out Challenge.

It been since the 2003-04 game that Michael Redd represented the Bucks on the actual roster, and it’s been since 1977 when Milwaukee hosted the All-Star game.

On this date (2-13-77)  Milwaukee,WI and the Mecca Arena were the focal point of the NBA universe.

The “DR.” at the ’77 All-Star Game in Milwaukee

After five seasons in the ABA, Julius (Dr. J) Erving made the jump to the  NBA and the Philadelphia 76ers. Erving put up 30 points in 30 minutes. He hit 12 of 20 from the field, made all six free throws, pulled down 12 boards, and was named  the M.V.P.

Unfortunately for Erving and the East it wasn’t enough, the West won 125-124.

Hopefully, when the NEW BUCKS ARENA gets built, hosting another  All-Star Game will shortly follow.
