He’s In!

That’s right, Ole’ #14 got the call from the Hall of Fame and he is in! Not the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame in the Queen City.

INDUCTION to take place JUNE 24-26th 2016.

Inside the Reds Hall of Fame

The Reds press release which the Reds put on their Twitter Account (@Reds) read:

“Inducting Pete into the Reds Hall of Fame will be a defining moment in the 147 year history of this storied franchise. He is one of the greatest players to ever wear a Reds uniform and it will be an unforgettable experience watching him be honored as such” – Bob Castellini, Reds President and CEO

“Pete Rose’s  on-field achievements and impact on the Reds and it’s fan base are unquestionable and worthy of induction into the Reds Hall of Fame. We look forward to this summer where, in front of his fans and with his teammates, ‘Charlie Hustle’ recognized for his contributions to the rich and distinguished history of the Reds.” – Rick Walls, Executive Director of Reds Hall of Fame and Museum

Rose, despite the gambling, cannot be denied what he did on the field of play. Rose spent his first 16 seasons in Cincinnati before playing some ball for Philly, and Montreal. He returned  in 1984 to play/manage the Reds before putting a bow on his career in 1986.

This honor even though it’s not Cooperstown is a long time coming, next he needs a statue and his number retired…then hopefully on a hot sweltering mid-July day in Upstate New York, Pete will be welcomed into a  Hall where he truly belongs.
