… so do Brewer fans!
The Milwaukee Brewer offense has sure picked up the pace since the first month of the season. In April the offense seemed extremely lackluster, and weak unable to produce runs let alone hit the “long ball.” Well, all of that has changed, during the first 20 games of the season the Brewers managed a measly 9 round trippers which tied them with the Twins for least in baseball. Since 4/28, the Crew has RIPPED 34 home runs in the last 24 games.
None last night unfortunately, they could’ve used one or two in their 3-2 loss to the Braves in Atlanta.
Speaking of home runs, The Hebrew Hammer our very own Ryan Braun has gone on a power surge as well, driving 10 baseballs with commissioner Rob Manfred’s name on it out of the park, since 4/28… second only to the National’s Bryce Harper who has 11 during the same time period. Every “dinger” hit by Braun moves him closer and closer to the franchise record of 251 hit by Robin Yount during his career in Milwaukee (Braun has 241).
Braun also leads the Majors in RBIs during that same period with 30. One of them moved him into 3rd place All-Time in Brewer franchise history ahead of Paul Molitor (790). Braun with 796 has only Cecil Cooper (944) and Robin Yount (1,406) in front of him.
The Crew finish up their road trip in Atlanta today before heading back to the Cream City Memorial Day to host last year’s World Series Champion, San Francisco Giants for three games, then finish the home stand with the Diamondbacks for three.
See ya at the Miller Park!
