NINE IN A ROW!

Who’s the first team to 10 wins in baseball? It’s not the Cardinals, Red Sox or Yankees, it’s our own Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers won number ten Sunday afternoon in 2 hours and 11 minutes due to a pitching gem by starter Kyle Lohse. The win was the teams 9th straight, and their third sweep, giving the Crew the best start to a season since 1987 when they opened at 13-0.

To say Lohse was dominant over his 8 and 2/3 innings would be an understatement. He threw just 100 pitched, 76 of which were strikes, allowing 4 hits, and walking NONE! The 4-1 win over the Pirates increased the Brewers streak of games allowing their opponents 3 runs or less to 26 consecutive innings (the record since 1990 is 31). How does that old adage go? “Good pitching will always beat good hitting.”

Aramis Ramirez continues his hot Spring with his team leading 11th RBI when he drove in Ryan Braun in the 4th. Rameriz is 9-12 with runners in scoring position (.750).

The Crew added two insurance runs in the 6th to increase their lead lead to 4-1 when a strike out resulted in two runs, and a runner on third. Just proof that there is something special with this year’s team.

The Brewers will see if they can keep the “force” on their side when the “Dark Side” comes to town Monday night, Matt Garza will get the ball, first pitch against the Cardinals is 7:10.
