“Cup-Gate 2013”
Brooklyn was down 2 with under 10 seconds in Wednesday nights (11-27-13) game against the Lakers. Nets guard Tyshawn Taylor who was in the process of being subbed out in-between free throws by Laker Jodie Meeks. Taylor “accidently” bumps Nets head coach Jason Kidd who has a soda in his hand.
The soda spills and there is a game stoppage….hmmm…..how convenient, considering the Nets were out of time outs, and need to draw up a last second play.
Kidd denied the tactic in the post game presser saying:“Cup slipped out of my hand while I was getting Ty,” Kidd said. “Sweaty palms. I was never good with the ball.”
Taylor came to the defense of his coach as well, saying: “I wasn’t paying attention. I just kind of bumped him. I didn’t even know he was holding [anything]. [But] coach was drinking a soda on the sideline. I was like, ‘What’s he doing?’
The Nets Paul Pierce missed the “three,” and the Lakers ended up winning 99-94.
The act is actually more comical than malicious, Kidd will be investigated and will be fined…and that will be the end of any future “Cup-Gates”
I bet Kidd had some Malibu in that cup as well, what an idiot…
He should have just paid one of fans sitting on the floor to dump a drink. It would have been a lot cheaper!
