That’s exactly what the USA National team will be after last nights 2 nil victory over Mexico in Columbus, Ohio last night.
The USA clinched their 7th consecutive FIFA appearance in the World Cup, which by the way is the 7th longest streak in the world. Goal keeper Tim Howard kept Mexico off the board, while Eddie Johnson aggressively went after Team Mexico’s goalie, and finally in the 49th minute drove a “header” into the back of Mexico’s goal giving the USA a 1-0 lead. Landon Donavan found the perfect time to score his 6th career goal against Mexico in the 78th minute, and extend Team USA’s lead to the eventual final score 2-0.
Team USA had to wait a little over an hour before the true celebration could begin, that’s when they found out that the Honduras/Panama game ended in a draw, and the US was in.
Of the 207 Soccer teams in the world that could qualify for the World Cup every 4 years, Team USA is one of the 32 that will be kickin’ it in Brazil next Summer.
Eddie’s head is more of a weapon than most players feet! The USA will have the best shot at the Cup ever next summer.
