I’ll see your four time All-Star First baseman and raise you my first time All-Star centerfielder. It was All-Star vs All-Star here Monday night when, with two out in the top of the ninth at Miller Park, Cincinnati Reds All-Star first baseman Joey Votto came to the plate with 2 out and a runner on first, down 4-3.
Votto swung for the fences, hit a moon shot to deep center field, and what looked like a score changing home run, turned out to be an out…because the the Milwaukee Brewers have the most exciting defensive outfielder in the league and probably all of baseball. Carlos Gomez went up, up, up and pulled the Votto’s smash out of the night’s sky with a snaring catch over the centerfield wall.
That was it…game over and the Crew pulls out the win! It’s the fourth such home run the Go-Go Kid has stolen from the opposition this season, and first game ending.
Look out New York, Carlos is coming back with a vengeance!
A spectacular catch
K-Rods reaction was great after the catch….he thought it was gone after Votto hit it.
Gomez deserved to make the all star game .
