My travels this week took me down into Miller Valley to Dino’z On State located at 5018 W. State St. Milwaukee, WI (414-777-5060). Dino’z recently celebrated their 1 year anniversary, in that one year it has become a “hot bed” for local dart shooters, and softball teams.

The 2,700 square foot bar has two levels, that supports a bar, 5 dart boards, 6 flat screen televisions, Golden Tee, Pop-A-Shot, Big Buck Hunter, various other electronic games, pub tables, 3 restrooms, and an enclosed smoking area outside.  Even though they have a state of the art  jukebox, a majority of the music is played off a sound system behind the bar, which means one thing, the music never stops, and the party keeps on going!

The food was the real reason for my visit. I’ve heard about their insanely large wings, so I had to see what all the buzz was about. I ordered the wings, and was told by the waitress to also try the chicken cordon blue sandwich, so I did.

First the wings, they were HUGE, I don’t know where they get those pterodactyl size wings, but they were enormous! They come in two portion sizes 6 and 12 count. I had them in  teriyaki  and “Jason’s Spicy Asian Sauce” (there are 11 different  flavors). I’ll use just one word to describe the taste – AWESOME! I hunted down the cook, Jason and asked him what is in his Spicy Asian Sauce?  He replied “Ancient chinese secret.” I guess I’ll leave well enough alone and savor the tasty memory. As far as the Chicken Cordon Blue Sandwich it was also huge. A deep-fried chicken breast covered with two slices of thinly shaved succulent  ham, and  melted swiss cheese all together on a soft Kaiser bun. The sandwich was moist, and extremely tasty, if I wasn’t so full, I would’ve ordered another one. Definitely a MUST order.

Another important feature, and a key factor to Dino’z speedy success is its ample parking. This along with its proximity to Miller Park, allows  Dino’z  to provides a FREE shuttle to and from Brewer games on game day.

Whether you go for the wings, shoot darts, catch the shuttle to cheer on the home team, or just a new place to hang out, Dino’z on State is the place to be.
